Additionally, the USFS Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit maintains a 24-hour hotline service to provide recorded information and updates on prescribed fire activity that may be conducted.  They can be reached at (530) 543-2600 ext. 6.

Prescribed Fire season usually lasts well into the winter months while multiple public land management agencies may be burning on their properties.  During these times, you may see smoke and flames on various project sites around the Lake Tahoe area.  Please contact the agency responsible for the prescribed burn for more information.
