The EMS Division is headed by North Tahoe Fire Battalion Chief Steve McNamara.
Approximately 78% of the emergency calls for the District contain a component of emergency medical services (EMS). Working with North Tahoe Fire, the mission of our EMS program is to be the leader in pre-hospital emergency medical services through well trained personnel rapidly providing excellent, cost effective care to all patients by utilizing appropriate equipment and technology in our unique environment. All of the District’s safety personnel are qualified to work as EMTs (emergency medical technician).
North Tahoe Fire Protection District provides Advanced Life Support Paramedics and ambulance transport to the North and West shores of Lake Tahoe from the Nevada State line to Emerald Bay in El Dorado County, to Alpine Meadows, and on the lake waters of Tahoe in cooperation with the United States Coast Guard. The District also provides Paramedic ambulance service to Squaw Valley in cooperation with Squaw Valley Fire Department’s Paramedics.
